Quick question: how many need to? And where would they go?
Serious question: How many other countries would stand for us illegally immigrating there? Certainly not Mexico, which deals quickly and harshly with its illegal immigrants.
Keep in mind the distinction between immigrant and colonist: The immigrant leaves a bad old country and goes to a better one, with the intention of assimilating. The colonist goes to another country to make it his own.
We are perhaps the first country in history to pay people to colonize us.
