Dear MR-T,

Please stop wasting space on running columns written by widely recognized barking moonbats. The presidential press corps' crazy aunt in the attic is proving her distant separation from reality every day. What was recently said about Dan Rather also applies to Ms. Thomas: not only does Helen not get "it," the light from "it" can take several years to reach Planet Helen.

Best regards,
Yr. Lyl. Reader, Shepherd

UPDATE: Mr. Lake Wobegon is not an improvement. Although I am sure that several of the 25 or 30 over-55 liberals that live in Midland still find him humorous, feel free to keep trying other columnists.

I would agree that Helen has seen better days. However, would you want the paper to only print right-wingers?

Nope, I just want a coherent point of view, something that Helen Thomas has not had for years.

The MR-T, or any paper for that matter, should present a balance that reflects both sides of the political spectrum. We certainly do not have that now. I do read the editorial page, every day. I just find it to be a greater waste of my time with 3 or 4 liberal, left, blindly- supporting-democrat-party-policy columnists for every columnist that is slightly to the right of far left. Wasting customer's time is not a profitable business model for either the paper or for the syndicate that pays Helen Thomas to waste the time of others in the WH press corps and of the President's spokesmen.

I am thankful for the paper printing George Will, but I suspect I am like many who read this blog: I get most of my "editorial" type input from reading on the 'net. And reading a broad spectrum of views.

Best line I ever heard (or read somewhere) concerning Helen Thomas:

"Being universally disliked by almost every press secretary ever doesn't make you H.L. Mencken."

Or something like that.
