The reason why we have to do this is that UAE takes in a lot of our dollars for oil. We don't make cars or computers or anything for them to buy with those dollars any more, our companies have moved that to other countries. If they can't trade those dollars for something, then they will want a lot more of them for each barrel of oil -- not so bad for Permian Basin, but not what the Republicans need to stay in power.

This is the basic foreign exchange mechanism.

If Americans saved more and made and purchase our own products instead of buying crap from China on credit cards, then maybe PNR (the current owners) could get more for their operation on the stock exchange, because Americans would by buying stock with their savings.

This is what happens when your country is bankrupt -- people you don't like show up at the assets auction.
