Stephen Green at Vodkapundit:

"President Bush isn't a fascist, and I can prove it.

We've seen what American bookstores and publications and universities do when confronted with real fascists: they knuckle under. You might not be able to find those Danish cartoons anyplace respectable, but you'll sure find lots of anti-Bush stuff.

Ipso facto, America is doing just fine, thankyouverymuch."

Sort of related to this....we always read how moderate Muslims should overcome their fears and speak out more against radical Islamofascism.

And we read it in the very papers that would not dare print the Danish cartoons.

Awkward, that.

“Fascist : a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.” from Merriam-Webster

Based on the definition above, I would not consider Bush to be a fascist. However, I do think he has been incompetent in regards to the nations finances. He has also been terribly lacking at other ‘Presidential Duties and Obligations.’ Needless to say I am not a Bush supporter for many reasons. But Bush is not the only one to blame. The Congress and both political parties are all at fault for political corruption, wasteful spending and general bad decision-making.

I suggest everyone read, “American Theocracy”, (which was recently released) to get a perspective on the direction I personally believe our country is headed – and it isn’t good.
