Some days they're so quiet, you don't even know they're there
Way back in 1998, when James Byrd, Jr. -- a black man -- was dragged to death in Jasper, Texas by John William King and two other white men, the outrage in the press was unquellable. There was anger, scorn, and 24-7 TV coverage from the steps of the Jasper County Courthouse. The term "Media Circus" qualified as an understatement. And perhaps that's as it should've been.
Now fast-forward to 2007. The location: Knoxville, Tennessee. The crime: The robbing, kidnapping, rape, torture, mutiliation, and murder of a young white couple by a group of blacks.
The reaction from the mainstream media: Silence.
Lemaricus Davidson, his half-brother Letalvis Cobbins, and George Thomas -- with assistance from a female accomplice -- allegedly took a leisurely four days to violently and repugnantly kill Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, both in their early twenties. Before they met their tragic end at the gang's hands, both were raped and maimed for days. To give you some perspective on the level of violence committed upon them, Newsom's sex organ was severed and he was burned to death as Christian was reportedly forced to watch. The gang then repeatedly raped her for several more days before eventually severing her breasts and killing her.
Yes, it's normal for your stomach to be churning right now.
Now I ask you, what about the Newsom-Christian murders does not rise to the level of magnatude in the slaying of James Byrd? Why have we not heard about this in the MSM? Where are the camera crews? Where's the coverage? Where's the national outrage?
It's funny how any white on black crime is always front-page news for days on end, but when it's the other way around, the mainstream media falls suddenly silent. Remember this story the next time one of your left-wing friends tries to convince you that the MSM doesn't have a social agenda.

No doubt, this is a true prejudice in the media, but remember that one major factor in the media circus that surrounded the James Byrd slaying was that George W Bush was governor. I think much of the media attention was a veiled effort to attack Texas conservatives and the governor, who also at the time opposed the trendy "hate-crime" laws that were appearing everywhere.
I would also give another fine example where the media AND the U.N., the World Court, etc. have all been silent; the unlawful taking of land legally owned (many for hundreds of years) by WHITE farmers by the government and given to BLACK farmers - usually by force and with no compensation.
Sound unfair and horrible? Yes, it was. And it is still happening. Did you know about it? Of course not. You would, however, if white farmers were driving black farmers off their land. If that were happening, I am quite sure the United Nations and all world bodies would step up and stop it. But not here, not in the country of Zimbabwe, where white farmers have lived peacefully with blacks for generations. Now most find themselves without their land and homes and impoverished - all under the umbrella of "land reform".
Is there a bias of news against showing black violence and injustice against whites? Absolutely. And in my opinion it is only getting worse. For further information about the injustice against white farmers in Zimbabwe, simply type in the search terms, “white farmers injustice in Zimbabwe” in GOOGLE or YAHOO.
and to make matters worse in Zimbabwe, the new management there isn't as productive as the old farmers, resulting in less economic output.

Hell, I don't know. Maybe the fact that's there no evidence that the slayings were racially motivated? These crimes were incredibly brutal, yes, but they're not all that unusual. Go read some of the death row profiles that many states have on the web.

As a long time student of how the left wing media distorts reality, their non coverage of such a horrendous crime is not surprising to me.
If the story makes white males look bad, it has to be printed. If the story in any way disparages a minority, the hades with printing it.
The mainstream media and it's selective reporting of the current events is, in my opinion, nearly as great a danger to our way of life as the terrorists are...
