Odessa's ED Circular Logic

I heard on the radio today that the Odessa Economic Development Corporation had rescinded two Economic Development Contracts with local businesses. Lo and behold, at the EDC's meeting on April 12, they did have agenda items to rescind agreements with Cameron Measurement and Bear's Machine and Manufacturing.

Before I go any further, why is this in the top of the hour local news blurb two weeks after the fact?

What is priceless was the explanation for agreeing to let these companies out of their ED contracts. It seems they cannot meet their employment goals, because they can't find enough workers to hire because of all the jobs created by all this economic development activity that WASN'T fostered by ED tax money.

Os,

Is it any wonder that a governmental entity does not make others adhere to a contract...?

Oh, THAT ED.

Well....it has its similarities. You have a HOT economy giving out jobs to any person who's breathing, and here they're stuck with several million dollars and a tool that doesn't work.

And because of all the new people who bring their children to Midland, we do need to support the school building campaign...or we won't keep these nice new people!

Os,

Exactly. I was never in favor of the economic development fund. It looks too much like bribery, to me anyhow.

%%% EXPERIMENTAL %%%
If not for eurasian experimental in 1992 on CSPAN to Bryan Lamb and congressman Jackson, son of Jesse- which convinced Alan Greenspan to park employment beyond the 95% cutoff ---- so "by ratio and proportion" unemployables can grow the economy at 7-8percent instead of 2-3% -------- these companies in Odessa could have gotten workers from other places in the country.

HA HA HA. EURASIAN EXPERIMENTAL CONTINEOUS TO WORK IN THE BRAINS OF THE PEOPLE THAT MATTER -- THOSE FEW PEOPLE RUNNING THE FEDERAL RESERVES.

MAYOR MELTON, MAYOR CANON: DID YOU HEAR THAT????
