Racial Code Words: Obama "Elitist?" Or "Uppity?"
They don't say 'uppity' any more; now it's 'elitist.'
Some quotes from the non-elitist wife of the non-elitist candidate for Hope and Change. And Change. Oh, and did I mention Hope?:
"I know we're spending -- I added it up for the first time -- we spend between the two kids, on extracurriculars outside the classroom, we're spending about $10,000 a year on piano and dance and sports supplements and so on and so forth," Mrs. Obama tells the women. "And summer programs. That's the other huge cost. Barack is saying, 'Whyyyyyy are we spending that?' And I'm saying, 'Do you know what summer camp costs?'""We don't complain because we've got resources because of our education. We've got family structure," she says. "So I tell people don't cry for me."
I'm sorry....but when she is talking to an audience in an area where the median income is $37,000 per year and "feeling their pain" (as it were) and provides as an example of this pain-feeling how hard it is to scrape together $10,000 per year for dance and piano lessons for her daughters (and this doesn't even include summer camp!) then, yeah, she may be opening herself up to the idea that maybe she doesn't "relate" as much as she thinks she does.
Especially when she thinks that anyone in that audience would consider for a minute "crying for her."
Obama groupies can hear in their heads Neil Young's "Southern Man" all they want as they picture us going to the polls down here...but their guy is essentially George McGovern.
A McGovern with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement but without any B-24 missions to his name.

Well ,well, well .
Walsingham , you know darn good and well that to my generation what the word that follows "uppity" is.
You know darn good and well that not only us "baby boomers" but GenXers know it too ..PLUS every ethnic
class and oxygen breathing thinking person in the free world !
Were you or I to make any distinction of the difference of uppity to elitist..even in the BEST of comedic intentions..we would be toast.
I've got a WHOLE lot more on this I'd like to dump if one of would wish to open the thread ..I digress ..
Why would..SERIOUSLY..Mrs Obama associate with the poor ? She seems to feel her roots are from the garden of poverty and tries so hard to be "one of the gals". (Imagine playing ALGORE a game of eight-ball at the Field Office for a beer....can't focus , right?)
If you have climbed above poverty and are on the track to success , EVERY self-help guru on the freakin' planet tells you to keep your eye on the goal and NEVER look back !
I guess this doesn't apply to "Liberal politicians like the Clintons and Obamas who love to wallow in the "pain" of others who need money( notice that Bill would always bite his lip when approached by a sob story and say he felt that persons "PAIN" , but nevernevernever anted up a dime to help out..but ALWAYS tried to get YOU(taxpayer)YOU to pay for it !His bride is the same way .)
Obama's candidacy makes no sense . Really . None .
The guy makes one stupid speech that gets well recieved while he's running for senate.. and is now
serving as the junior senator from Ill. who hasn't even completed ONE stinking term in National Office and he's getting the democratic nod for freakin PRESIDENT !
Wonder what the authors LaHaye and Jenkins might think of those odds .

Sorry to hear about Politburo, I have not visited that site in a long time, but he used to be a good read as I recall. Now there is a shrill, irrational tone to the things he writes. Funny how often that is the case with someone who moves from right to left. Over here you cite a bit of a speech and make critical, but rational comments about it. Over there it is essentially name calling. Same thing happened to Ariana Huffington.
