Dean Baldwin Painting lays off 42% of its workforce.
No word from the Midland Development Corporation on whether it is "still satisfied" with all of the answers Dean Baldwin Painting provided them regarding any possible problems with the company.
To Review: This is the company that the Midland Development Corporation wanted to spend over $20 mu...mu...mu...million of your tax dollars on (most of it borrowed, by the way) in order to bring them to Midland.
But it was all really just a breakdown in communications you see.
In the private sector something like this would cause resignations. Or worse.
Or even in the pseudo-governmental agency sector in a "fiscally conservative" place like Midland.
Well, Midland about 20 years ago.

I'm sure the City could pay the WellHeads to do the due diligence the Chamber and MDC are supposed to do. Though I'm not sure being on the government take would square up with our rhetoric.
Though, I'll be the first to admit that for enough Benjamin's ..... anything is possible.

I am still amazed that two guys gleefully banging away at their computers ,in one freakin' morning, could get the skinny on this outfit and SAVE the taxpayers of this community so much money !
In my opinion Walsingham and Ospurt deserve a PARADE! The city should commission two golden medallions to be presented to these heroes by Mayor Wes Perry and all property taxes of these individuals forgiven for the next 20 years ! They get free water and sewer too !
Look at the money they SAVED ! If you don't think they did it get your head out of the sand !
These two were the ones who were at the switch before the train wreck !
Oh , and thanks to JW too .
I think the city should designate each June 20th as Walspurt Day to alternate with Osingham Day every other year!
Yeah ! Hurrah ! Hurrah ! Hurrah !

Maybe they could just pick up the tab at Bob's Better Burger for us.....

I'm thinking that the City of Midland should hit our tip jar.
If I ever get it put back up, I mean.
