Doohan was so awesome, the rocket couldn't even handle his mere ashes!
Who cares all that much about "Scotty". Too bad, though, that the remains of a real hero, Gordo Cooper, got "lost in space" too.
At least Gordon Cooper had been there before. I am pretty sure that James Doohan never had.
