Al Gore urges civil unrest

"If you're a young person looking at the future of this planet and looking at what is being done right now, and not done, I believe we have reached the stage where it is time for civil disobedience to prevent the construction of new coal plants that do not have carbon capture and sequestration," Gore told the Clinton Global Initiative gathering to loud applause.
The Goracle has reared himself back on his hind legs, more difficult these days than before, to deliver himself of this call to civil disobedience. To civil disorder. Also Sprach Gorasthustra.
There are so many things wrong with the quoted paragraph that it's hard to know where to begin. First, the very idea of a Clinton Global Initiative is frightening. Can't we just hire interns to keep him quiet? And second, Algore is so past his sell-by date that only he, and the dedicated moonbats, but I repeat myself, think that he's still in any way relevant to life, the universe, and everything. Or anything.
Behold the hypocrisy. Sorry; that apocalyptic, solipsistic tone is catching. The point should be the carbon emissions, if you are invested in all that and not their source. If you're honest in your stated claims, but hey! He's Al Gore and he does what he wants with total contempt. He jets around in his private jet, drives a huge SUV, has a hugely expensive house and we've all heard about his 100' yacht. He's not considering changing his behavior, but he sure as hell wants to disrupt American society. Because it wouldn't have him and he's entitled, you know. You don't think so? Listen to him whine.
Joe Kennedy, wherever you are: You can be proud. I don't know what you made when FDR wanted you, as the biggest crook on the stock exchange, to clean it up. I don't know how much you made in rum-running, which gave us your execrable offspring, but at least you got a good deal when you invested in a Daley in Chicago to get the presidency for your son JFK. You, old Joe, got value for money: a working Honda instead of a Skoda like Daley minor. How lucky you must be feeling now, if you're feeling anything at all other than a prickly rash that won't go away, that you didn't invest in that machine pol's son, who in 2000 couldn't even steal an election for Al Gore, the Holy One, who has, as the prelate of the Church of Climatology, has now just told people to engage in civil unrest. Civil disobedience.
How many wannabe dictators have sulked like this? Having been rejected by the electorate, who have seen through them and passed? These people who couldn't even manage to steal the election and were turned out then, and refusing to accept reality, then go on to victory by other means, and in this case, the case of the Gorobot, it is to urge civil unrest. But that's what all turned-out wannabe dictators do--snipe from the sidelines.
This is nothing short of treason. Were it not for the fact that the 2000 loss had obviously unhinged the man, he should be clapped into prison and since the Hinkley assault on Ronald Reagan I'm not at all sure about the insanity defense. For Gore's is the language of a soap-box radical on a street corner, preaching to dirty layabouts, like himself, sorry, fat layabouts, and it is not the language of an ex-Senator, and Vice President.
The most generous thing would be psychiatric evaluation. But we may be treated to the spectacle of this husk of a man, his personality destroyed along with all that he pinned it on, becoming a joke rabble-rouser, given pity interviews by Larry King. Oh. Too late. Even Larry King has given the Goracle pity interviews, in which King tutoyered him.
In the dive to the bottom of the barrel, Gore finally sunk lower than James Earl Carter. And that is his only achievement.

Treason is organizing a revolt against the government.
Civil disobedience is not treason.
Just thought you'd like to know.

For a man who has held high office to urge people to engage in civil disobedience against legal concerns, permitted by a government which he was a part of, and thereby disrupting the rule of law, which he swore to maintain, is most definitely treason.
Just thought you'd like to know.

This country would still be eating crumpets and drinking midday tea if it weren't for our nations original treasonists.

Stu, you're quite right. But then they were our insurgents. And after we lent our bayonets and bombs and money, lots and lots of money, to the mother country to keep them from speaking German and Russian, it proved to be a good decision after all.
The Goracle, on the other hand, is merely trying to persuade people that he's still important. It might shock him to know that he never really was.

I'm curious how you actually perform these acts of civil disobedience against coal plants. Wackos spike trees so they will injure workers in the lumber industry, so maybe he wants them to set off explosions in coal mines.

Think Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mohandas Gandhi.

Think Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mohandas Gandhi.A false comparison. They were demonstrating and urging civil disobedience for the liberation of a people, which is entirely different from urging civil disobedience for the sake a secular religion.
Anthropogenic global warming is not proven. And let's get a grip folks: things have been cold lately.. People are worried about a little ice age.
The Goracle has tapped into the latent hysteria and evangelical fury of people who cannot sit along in a room, to try to make mischief.
He's nothing more than an unscientific, self-obsessed, whining, dangerous fat fool, and one of the biggest embarrassments that the United States has ever vomited onto the global stage as he goes about, collecting honoraria ranting nonsense to people who want the feeling of doing good without the effort of thinking.

I know. His film, An Inconvenient Truth, won two Oscars and he himself won a Nobel Prize along with the IPCC.
What an embarrassment to our nation! We can't have people going around winning Nobel Prizes and Oscars when Jessica's Well has already weighed in on how fat and dangerous they are. What would people think!
On a more serious level, remember that scientists live on funding. When that single Danish scientist proposed a theory that the sun might be fixing to trigger a new Ice Age, little smiles appeared on the faces of scientists all over the world. They knew that the Right-Wingers had deep pockets, that the polluters of our atmosphere wished to muddy the waters of science and make people believe at least for a few more years that carbon emissions were not dangerous to our climate.
Perhaps the most telling phrase in that editorial is "But he and his colleagues need better equipment."
There, in a nutshell, is the motivation for the whole thing. A tidy little research grant, a lovely guaranteed salary for each of them for years, shiny new equipment, a beautiful facility, and perhaps a longer resume in the future.
And people whose profession is not science will be easily fooled by little mentions in the newpaper of climate scientists not agreeing anymore.

Say, sonny boy, I was around when there was 5000 feet of ice covering the state of Michigan.Don't tell me that my methane flatulence caused the interglacial stages

"But guys!!! What about Manbearpig!!!"

Anon.2 just defined the motivation of a great percentage of 'scientists', including those who support AGW. The majority of people have been fooled by them again and again. It isn't exclusive to skeptics. It is more likely that money motivates the supporters of AGW, as there are many instances of universities, governments, and businesses trying to rid themselves of scientists who are skeptical of global warming, or silence them, so if one were motivated by monetary gain, research grants, endowed chairs, etc., it would be counterproductive to go against the academic/scientific herd. Reason, once again, stands against your conclusions, anon.2.
And that film of Al Gore's, despite the awards it and it's creator received, has been denounced by scientist who actually support global warming theories, who find it over the top and filled with inaccuracies. And don't forget one of it's major themes, that global warming was responsible for Katrina and would produce stronger and stronger hurricanes (which almost all climatologists consider a baseless conclusion)was made a joke when the film was followed by two of the calmest hurricane seasons on record.

Anonymous two, you again get the wrong end of the stick. By the way, do you know the genesis of that? The Romans didn't have toilet paper and used sponges on sticks which they passed from one to each other.
Getting a Nobel for anything other than real science is rubbish for they're used to bash America. Think I, Rigoberta Menchu, written supposedly by a native but really by a leftist. There are a few good ones but in general it's all left-wing politics. And an Oscar? What, exactly, does a documentary have to do with an Oscar? But wait! From wikipedia
The film won the 2007 Academy Award for Documentary Feature and Best Original Song for Melissa Etheridge's "I Need to Wake Up". It is the first documentary to win a best original song Oscar.
It has often been erroneously reported by many members within the various news and entertainment media outlets that Al Gore himself had won the Oscar for An Inconvenient Truth but it was actually Davis Guggenheim who was the Nominee and Recipient of the Academy Award.
So it seems that the Goracle not only didn't win two Oscars. He didn't win even one. And one of the Oscars was won for a song in a documentary. Oh how trenchant. How telling. What a body blow to right-wing snarling, to have a documentary win an Oscar for a song. Thank you, Anonymous; I actually had bought that His Holiness the Goracle had won an Oscar. Seems that he didn't. Someone else did. Oh, and a song did. A song.
The Danish environmentalist you refer to is Bjorn Lomborg, who questioned the regnant wisdom of all this global warming. And because of it he's been vilified by people afraid that he'll blow the whistle and stop the gravy train of government and foundation grants to prove environmental warming. Which probably doesn't exist.
Your claim that people took money from polluters is simply the silliest thing that you've ever said so far. The money is in proving, or trying to, that there is global warming. The Zeitgeist is that there is global warming, and that's what is used to whip up the hysteria letting the left have a look-in on more control.
GE has decided to go along with the global-warming stuff, knowing that it can make a profit in the carbon-trading scam. The other ones have too. And it's all at the expense of the undeveloped nations who are thereby prohibited from development.
I just love this. The left, in caring-n-compassion drag, joining elbows to starve Mexicans because of ethanol and keep third-world countries from developing by buying their carbon emissions because they don't have the money to have modern industry and the autocrats running those countries are perfectly willing to sell anything down the river for a few billion of their own.
Thank you, Anonymous Two. Your finest effort yet.
But god, you're mean.

Notice that I never said that Gore won the Oscars personally:
"His film, An Inconvenient Truth, won two Oscars and he himself won a Nobel Prize along with the IPCC."
But I'm delighted that you were able to learn more about the subject, anyway.
When you pick up your next DVD at the video store and it says. "Winner of Three Academy Awards!" you'll likely be reading more carefully now to see if it was in costume design or casting or whatever. Then you'll say, "Oh how trenchant, how telling."

I know. His film, An Inconvenient Truth, won two Oscars and he himself won a Nobel Prize along with the IPCC.You're right. You didn't say that his Holiness actually won the Oscars. You said that his film did. I'm still in shock that a documentary won an Oscar, and by the way, a documentary is not traditionally considered a film. Unless it's a lie. Then it's not a documentary.
Frankly, considering how the Oscars have been politicized, I tend to ignore them.
And thank you. I'm always very glad to learn things. I learn things from liberals all the time but almost never anything that is actually factually true.

Is there a global warming skeptic out there that has been enriched more than Al Gore based on this issue?
How many houseboats does Bjorn Lomborg have?

Don't you know that it is high time to get the credit loans, which would realize your dreams.

No Kidding!
I know this is gonna stir the soup, but THANK GOD we had someone other than AlGore in the whitehouse on Sept 11. This man would have had to take a poll to decide if he should be scared ****less or not!
Global warming my rear-end! The only reason we have global warming on this planet is AlGore's mouth won't stop flapping!
There are many people who need to be sequestered. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Al Gore and Ted Kennedy. Not one of these people knows how to do anything constructive. All they know how to do is show up, blame someone for something, offer NO solution, get their name in the news, and then go home and do .. well, whatever they do at home!
