At least one that won't roll over.

Barbara West, anchor for WFTV in Florida, asked Joe Biden a question. Here's the clip:

At last. Someone interviewing a Democrat without a softball question. And calling Obama's "share the wealth" Marxist. How vulgar to bring up the truth. And of course Biden, insulated, had no answer.

The Obama/Biden campaign instantly reacted with outrage, so much more useful than truth, and cancelled any more interviews with that station. Biden's wife Jill had an interview coming up, and that too was cancelled. Spake Laura McGinnis, the central Florida communications director for the Anointed One's campaign:

This [Jill Biden's] cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election."

A sniff, a snarl, and a slap on the hand.

The left-wing bloggers are moaning that it was a right-wing television station (glad to know there is one) and are trotting out the accusations that the questions were right out of John McCain's, or Karl Rove's play book. Again, if it's so, it's the only one.

This TV station and their anchor are clearly biased - which in itself isn't a bad thing - but to use an uneducated, shockingly ignorant front person in Barbara West who at one point in the interview, bluntly equated BarackObama to Marxism is appalling.

If this was my TV station, both West and her news director Bob Jordan, would be fired for such a clumsy, inept and ignorant gutter politics interview that demeans the station and its viewers. Particularly so, as Barbara West's husband is a donor to the republicans [sic] and a media consultant for the republican party.

Notice the presumption that anyone who is not in the tank for Obama ought to be silenced. "Gutter politics." Since when is a nonscripted question gutter politics? I suppose when we're buying a luxury brand or a cult. "Demeaning to the station and its viewers" sounds as though Ms. West committed heresy and sacrilege--which is just what she did do. You can't ask a difficult question of a cult, because it has no answer and in the current media adulation, from the rest of the media, Biden has not had to face difficult questions.

And by the way, if you play the video, you'll find that Barbara West is not ignorant. She's not ignorant of Marx, which I'm quite sure the Obama campaign wishes she were.
