Just in case you've not seen it...
This joke has come to me twice, in slightly different forms, but so much has my lip-curling contempt for equivocators and moral relativists grown that I find it better now than before.
For those of you (few) who haven't seen it, an Internet joke:
Are you a Democrat, a Republican or a Texan?
Here is a little test that will help you decide.
The answer can be found by posing the following question:
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the
corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah,
raises the knife, and charges at you.
You are carrying a Colt 1911 cal. 45 semiautomatic pistol, and you are
an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your
family. What do you do?
...................................................
THINK CAREFULLY AND THEN SCROLL DOWN:
Democrat's Answer :
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the Colt have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does
this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely
want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away
while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this happier,
healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for
few days and try to come to a consensus.
...................................................
Republican's Answer:
BANG!
...................................................
Texan's Answer:
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading)
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
BANG! Click
Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips
or Hollow Points?"
Son: "Can I shoot the next one?"
Wife: "You are not taking that to the taxidermist."

Otto, that's what I like about Texas. Being corrected on the number of rounds in a particular gun.

After the tenth shot,Mirandize him

The amount of gun control is more of a function of where a person lives more than which party they support. Those in large cities want a lot of gun control, those in rural and smaller towns and even Southern areas want little gun control (not allowing 50-cal. machine guns or bazookas is some gun control).
It is true that Democrats seem to want more gun control than Republicans but it is true that most big city politicians tend to be Democrats and rural area and Southern areas (now) tend to be Republican.
-----signed by an independent thinking Democrat that votes for the best person, not just blindly the for a party as some of both party do...(I own numerous guns) I dislike the fact that straight vote exists..... too many have no idea who they just voted for OR WHY ----and can't name who they voted for other than the top name or two. Both parties sometimes have some terrible choices on the ballot.

The only straight ticket I've ever voted was straight Libertarian--if there was no race needing my vote. That was a way of voting "None of the above."
About gun control. One of the amazing things to me is that people want to control guns, often with freakish qualifiers, thinking it will reduce crime. Law-abiding citizens, who are not the muggers, are the only ones who will care.
If it is useless (a Libertarian stance) to try to control the cocaine coming into the country, why think that guns can be controlled? Because the apparatus is a honey pot for government, but that's another topic.

Funny ! But one correction . A 1911 Colt 45 carries only 7 rounds . I know cause I have one , BUT I have five clips for it! So Bring 'em On !
