Daniel Pipes on B.H. Obama's ability to get a security clearance:

Obama's multiple links to anti-Americans and subversives mean he would fail the standard security clearance process for Federal employees. Islamic aggression represents America's strategic enemy; Obama's many insalubrious connections raise grave doubts about his fitness to serve as America's commander-in-chief.

Go read the whole thing. More from Pipes can be found here.

The Spectator's Melanie Phillips is on the case of what this means for the free world: the West:

The impact of the financial crisis on the American presidential election has somewhat obscured the most important reason why the prospect of an Obama presidency is giving so many people nightmares. This is the fear that, if he wins, US defences will be emasculated at a time of unprecedented international peril and the enemies of America and the free world will seize their opportunity to destroy the west.

...snip...

He has said he will 'cut investments in unproven missile defense systems'; he will 'not weaponize space'; he will 'slow our development of future combat systems'; and he will also 'not develop nuclear weapons,' pledging to seek 'deep cuts' in America's arsenal, thus unilaterally disabling its nuclear deterrent as Russia and China engage in massive military buildups.

Emphasis mine.

McCain believes in protecting and defending America as it is. Obama tells the world he is ashamed of America and wants to change it into something else. McCain stands for American exceptionalism, the belief that American values are superior to tyrannies. Obama stands for the expiation of America's original sin in oppressing black people, the third world and the poor.

...snip...

There are, alas, many in the west for whom all this is music to their ears. Whether through wickedness, ideology, stupidity or derangement, they firmly believe that the ultimate source of conflict in the world derives at root from America and Israel, whose societies, culture and values they want to see emasculated or destroyed altogether. They are drooling at the prospect that an Obama presidency will bring that about. The rest of us can't sleep at night.

Please read the whole thing. Then forward the links to those you think can have their minds changed: those who are leaning Obama and those who are leaning McCain but may not make it to the polls.

We have rarely had as much at stake in an election... We do not need any more uncertainty on the future of the West.

I quite agree. But I wonder if any of it matters. The left has won to the extent that mentioning the Chosen One's middle name is racist. Saying that the Obamessiah has terrorist friends is racist. And now dressing as Obama for Halloween is racist.

And of course, not voting O is racist.

There is no question that in America there has been official racism. As there has been sexism and homophobia--still is a bit of that. And the Brits see racism and slavery as America's founding sin, which is rich indeed but I won't go into that. But you have to ask yourself of it is fair that the charge of racism can silence any question of suitability, or ability. Or even honor.

I ought to have seen that the logical conclusion of this witch hunt of racism would be this.

I am glad that you and I are reading this stuff, Theo, and are in agreement. I take comfort in that. I wish I knew that more folks were paying attention.

Now what do we do over the next 9 days to avoid an absolute trainwreck for America? I am at a loss. Much like the snippy socialite Eastside Manhattanite many years ago who could not understand how Nixon won because she knew of no one who voted for him, I know no one who is intending to vote Obama. Yet he leads in many polls. I do not trust the polls, yet they are all we have to go on right now.

As I have said in a prior post or comment, if the Obama socialism comes to pass, I will endeavor to stand down from the economy as much as possible. I am not alone in this thinking either.

I strongly believe that the current drop in equities on the stock market is due to stock owners "pricing in" an Obama presidency and the resultant socialist economic policies: the companies are going to be worth much less going forward. Intelligent stock owners are pricing their purchases accordingly and folks that feel otherwise are not able to get what they think their stock is worth. Words have consequences and policies have great consequence. Obama and Biden and the Dims have talked the economy down to this point.

Now we are talking massively incresed taxes, a 25% cut in the military, reparations for slavery and emboldened terrorists. What's not to like? I am in fear for our country.

To quote Joe Biden:
"Mark my words..." if Obama takes Virginia early on Tuesday, it will be a landslide as all the voters West of the Mississippi will be disheartened. The press will do all they can to call Virginia for Obama because there is almost no way McCain can win the electoral count without carrying Virginia. They will do all they can to have that state in Obama's count by 7:00 EST.

They tried it in 2000 in Florida and it almost worked. Sent a lot of people home in the panhandle who would've voted Bush. The truly sad part of this whole fiasco is that the media has destroyed everyone in his way. Is there any scenario where anyone would have thought a year ago Hilary was not going to be the nominee? It scares me so as through the Democratic primary Obama made Hilary look middle of the road. Who would've thought that?

The MSM and Hollywood got on the Obama wagon and have dictated this election and made every person against BHO racist or stupid. I know a lot of people voting for the guy, when I ask them one well thought out reason why, I can't get a thoughtful answer other than the rest of the world hates us. My comment back is if they hate us so much why are people busting our borders to live here and make a better life?

If he wins in landslide fashion watch out. The Dems come in with a major mandate in their minds and welcome to legislation that makes The New Deal look like child's play.

Wow De Flores, that's a lot of writing for sooemne who thinks there isn't much to be served by replying! You're so full of anger that it's no doubt you're incapable of seeing any good. You're blinded by the machine, and your incredible arrogance is really off-putting and makes the rest of your argument look like a joke. I'm sure there's a sprinkle of truth in it, but it's lost in the sea of hate.We should unite because we're all Americans! Not because my guy' won. Put simply: you are exactly what is wrong with this country. Before President Obama even is President Obama, you've already decided there's no way he can do any right. You're a traitor. There is no patriotism in what you do, don't confuse it for anything but pathetic old-fashioned partisan division.EVERYONE united under President Bush post-9/11. We gave him his shot, Democrats too. His approval rating once stood at a staggering 88%. But Bush betrayed the American people by lying about Iraq, spying on his citizens, removing freedoms, spitting in the face of science, torturing detainees, and generally making the US one of the most hated nations of the world. He deserved no allegiance. He deserves impeachment and removal from office, and frankly, prison time.Similarly, Sen McCain, an honored servant of this great country, betrayed his own supporters by picking a completely unqualified, unpolished joke of a running mate, proven not only by his loss and her continued lack of direct media exposure, but also by the slew of recent articles about how her people were unmanageable how they went rogue and had unreasonable demands of the McCain campaign. Their decision to further divide our country by classifying Obama as a terrorist is dishonor as the greatest level, it is downright Anti-American, and accordingly, it led to their crushing downfall. As a result of all of this, McCain led what can only be called a negative campaign, one that deserves no respect. It was a negative one from the get-go, never selling us on what he could do, only what the other guy would supposedly do.Obama remained the only one focused mostly on hope and peace and good. Your sour grapes can't change that. So don't be such a sore loser. If you're that unhappy, how about I offer you the same thing right-wing nuts have been offering democrats for the last 8 years? If you don't like it, please feel free to get out.

Erinyes:“I truly feel sorry for senator McCain. He allowed stupid and evil people to influence his campaign”Don’t. McCain is not a sad old man led astray by his campaign. He’s a power-hungry, angry man still, at the age of 72, trying to outdo his admiral father (and grandfather). Becoming president is the only way, and he’ll do absolutely anything to get there. This is why he has no ideas for what he wants to do if he wins–that part doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters for him is winning. If you’ve not already, see the article on him from August, and the current article. Both are quite damning on the McCain character/maverick nonsense, making quite clear that he’ll do or say whatever he feels he needs to to get/keep power. This is a dangerous man who should not be allowed anywhere near foreign policy and national security, and definitely not within ten miles of the “red button.”
