SCANDAL: Palin's wardrobe purchase
I am not sure what the In-The-Tank Media consider the scandal here. That the RNC shelled out $150,000 (about the same amount of money that someone paid for a certain set of Greek columns) in wardrobe purchases for Palin AND her family members for use on the campaign trail...or that any real woman would have had all that stuff already in her closet ready to go.
A few weeks ago it was, "How many houses does McCain have?"
Now it is *GASP*, "Sarah Palin didn't have enough clothes in her closet to make it through 10 weeks of constant appearances, interviews, and travel."
Do I even need to mention that Nancy Pelosi has probably spent more on jewelry alone than what the Palins paid for their house?

The RNC would have been better served to let her tough it out with the wardrobe she already has, condsidering her net worth.
The problems were primarily that she actually ASKED for the clothes, and that the RNC did not have a well prepared statement on the matter.
Under law the clothes have to be donated to charity afterwards, but the spokesman was completely unaware of that fact.
I think Gov. Palin looks well enough with what she has. Replacing outfits from store-bought to designer does little to alter an image. I see the difference in a woman's clothes, but "Joe the Plumber" cannot tell who made the outfits.
Once again, valuable days lost defending ourselves.

What part of anything in your comment leading up to your final sentence do you consider a defense, exactly?

I don't go out much these days, so a minimal wardrobe is fine...but imagine having to have clean, fresh clothes 18 hrs a day 7 days a week, dealing with shoes scuffed in gravel venue, little kids ice-creamy fingers grabbing...etc, etc. And Todd doesn't look like the kind of man who has closets full of suits, either.......and it either of them, or their children, showed up with a "spot"...oh, my...can you imagine the outcry about what filthy backwoods hicks they are............????????

From what I've seen, Sarah does not waste any time "defending" herself from the crooked media's latest slam. They wish.

Notice today that instead of letting the wardrobe issue continue to die in the press, SP revived it again herself - not once but twice.
Then to top it all off, her staff agreed to provide a press release next week, with an itemized list of the entire wardrobe. That will include the name of the item, the label, the retail value and the designers' discounts to the RNC. The last will be raw meat for a Sarah hungry press.

Let us not forget that Miss Nancy had to have a new jet when she was elevated to Speakerette for it wouldn't do to stop to refuel when she was jetting to California to work the proles.
At least someone paid for them. Recall that Hillary stiffed her clothiers. Her hairdressers asked for payment and were told that the honor of doing the First Lady ought to be enough.
That was the only doing she got in the White House, I'm sure.
