Every time I see the name Christopher Buckley it makes me think of the great conservative thinker and writer William F. Buckley, Jr.

Here Christopher Buckley sniffs at Rush Limbaugh over Rush's attempt, in his words, to take over his father's mantle. In it he admits to being a New York elitist, and mocks himself, without really mocking himself, for using French words, which he helpfully defines. Chris, get over yourself. My French is pretty fractured and I might do you better, and I live in fly-over country, for God's sake.
His article on why he was going to vote for Obama was of a piece too. It's essentially a class distinction, and Christopher isn't strong enough or witty enough to resist the social pressure. Unlike his father.
If you click in the link, look at his picture. Does it remind you of Jim Carrey in The Mask?

Maybe it is the hat, but I was thinking more along the lines of Clouseau without the resolve.

At first the hat made me think of Drudge, but I'd rather read Drudge.
Do you suppose that since Steyn won his victory over the PC Nazis in Canada (the first, I believe, ever), he'll be back on the last page of National Review? One can hope. I kept my subscription because of him, and Florence King.

Impesrsive brain power at work! Great answer!

Christopher Buckley and Michael Reagan are in the same business: Making people think of their father.
If you ever get the itch to read something by Christopher Buckley just read, or even re-read, something by P.J. O'Rourke instead. You will get more from O'Rourke on a second or even a third reading than you will from a first read through this particular Buckley.
I used to feel a bit guilty thinking that. Not so much anymore.
