In response to a blog post at Althouse.com concerning an article titled "Get the sex you deserve" that attempts to blame capitalism (of all things) for the notion by some that we are all entitled to great sex:
If you're going to blame [capitalism] for increasing the general standard of living and wealth to the point that somebody can earn money writing this drivel about sex instead of laboring in the heat (or cold) to scrape up enough food to stay on the topside of the dirt for another 24 hours, Capitalism will take the rap.
Drivel about sex, gourmet dog biscuits, and John Kelso columns....
Think about how massively wealthy a society must be that there is money left over to pay for these kinds of things.

Dear, your avatar in Second Life getting sex doesn't count as actual sex. You know that, right?
Walsingham, I enjoyed the thread at Althouse this a.m. as well. One of capitalism's many "faults" is its ability to allow one to choose to spend one's time (= money) on pleasurable activities, whether it's flying kites, or Thermonuclear Level Foodie cooking extravaganzas with all the hardware, or on time with one's loved one. Or all 3. Ain't it great!
Didn't Ralph write in one time that his mom had caught him red handed in the basement, while getting the sex he deserved? I am glad to know that in his private thoughts he at least thinks he is going to move out.
I am sure that I will begin getting the sex I deserve when I move out of my Mom's basement on my 47th birthday.
