A brutal takedown of the proposed "ObamaCare"
From former New York Lieutenant Governor of New York Betsy McCaughey:
PRESIDENT Obama promises that "if you like your health plan, you can keep it," even after he reforms our health-care system. That's untrue. The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests. Two main bills are being rushed through Congress with the goal of combining them into a finished product by August. Under either, a new government bureaucracy will select health plans that it considers in your best interest, and you will have to enroll in one of these "qualified plans." If you now get your plan through work, your employer has a five-year "grace period" to switch you into a qualified plan. If you buy your own insurance, you'll have less time.
And as soon as anything changes in your contract -- such as a change in copays or deductibles, which many insurers change every year -- you'll have to move into a qualified plan instead (House bill, p. 16-17).
When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan, you'll be fined thousands of dollars -- as much as the average cost of a health plan for your family size -- and then automatically enrolled in a randomly selected plan (House bill, p. 167-168).

The government and High Court are already complict in the murder of unborn life. This is a natural progression of that philosophy.
Your right Old Otto. It is unacceptable.

I have MORE questions due to John's reply.
I hope these questions are read by a TON of people as , I do not believe, they are out of hand.
If John is correct in his assessment that the Federal Government will decide by Bureaucratic Mandate who lives or dies under the new Free Health Care Program , and We, The People , are unable to purchase additional health care under the existing Medicare guidelines... as NO ONE can have additional insurance, will this not completely Nationalise any and all health services in this country and make anyone who tries to save another's life..Outlaw ?
If you dare think about the power of Government holding sway the ability to either "treat" or "ignore" your health problem based on statistics of how much more your wealth would increase times the potential extra years of your life...doesn't that make you a bit ..frightened ?
Let's carry this from Babies and Older Americans to others.
What will happen to..If no one can purchase additional health care..say.."Jerry's kids" , The Masons fine programs , St. Jude's Children's Hospital , Ronald McDonald houses and other worthy charities that provide comfort and top-notch care to others?
So much for kids and their parents..you get my drift.
What will happen if you try to raise money to help young Americans with Lou Gehrig's disease , Aids , or whatever ?
Everything based on some bean-counter who bases YOUR LIFE on how much you may contribute to the system according to a chart stating the probabilities of how much time you may have left ! Comfortable ?
Your church or even pub will not be able to raise money for anyone's health needs as everyone gets the same service..and if they decide to..What happens to the money ?
If you find ( and you have found to be ABSOLUTELY True) that Mexico offers a CURE for what ails you...but it may be expensive..Do you think the Government will allow you to actually "KEEP" the money raised by your friends to help you ? Or prosecute them for stealing from the "Public Good" and making YOU repay every penny raised for your successful recovery ? ...As that money could have gone to more "Worthy" Candidates !
The only thing I want people to ask themselves is , If the Government (who also has all the guns) controls Health Care, don't you feel like a dead man/woman walking ?

You're right, Otto. In nations with socialized medicine costs are controlled by rationing. In some, if you're over 65 and you have heart trouble, you're SOL. Canada, which is held up to be a model of socialized medicine, has fewer MRI machines than a major American city. There were some private clinics where you could pay for one but the liberals thought that it was elitist and wanted them shut down.
This is self-righteous egalitarianism carried to the point of being murderous

Rupert Murdoch's tabloid NY Post carries an op-ed rife with strawmen, inaccuracies, and lies. Oh, big surprise there.
And the dupes eat it up. Take it as gospel.
Jeez people, get some standards.

Re: "Rupert Murdoch's tabloid NY Post carries an op-ed rife with strawmen, inaccuracies, and lies. Oh, big surprise there."
I had forgotten that on Cook Isle that anything found in the New York Post up to and including the date, the page numbers, and even the sports scores can be successfully refuted by shouting "Rupert Murdoch!!!!".
Similarly, the link to the McCaughey bio on Wikipedia is provided for us to read just enough to see that she is a Republican and therefore inherently wrong.
I guess linking to anything the racist, Murdoch-owned, patient-raping Mayo Clinic won't work either.

It is telling just how desperate IsleCook is to not leave George W. Bush to the historians.
In countless posts she has proclaimed that the entire planet agrees with her that Bush is a miserable failure in literally every endeavor he attempted.
Why stop at planet? Why not the whole universe?
Just as telling is her unresponsiveness to any queries about her sources or even her theories about why something is the way she claims it is.
>>>>>
Normal Person: "I saw on Fox News the other day that the entire country of Canada has less MRI imagers than a major american city."
IsleCook: "Faux News? Rupert Murdoch owns Faux News."
Normal Person: "Okay....but about the MRI thing...."
IsleCook: "Poor Normal Person, you just can't see that you've been duped by the failed and utterly discredited Reagan-Bush-Cheney-Halliburton conservative dogma."
Normal Person: "But shouldn't all of Canada have more MRI imagers than, say, Louisiana?"
IsleCook: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Jindal"
Normal Person: "What's that?"
IsleCook: "It's a link to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's Wikipedia page".
Normal Person:
IsleCook:
Normal Person:
IsleCook: "Can't you read? He's a Republican!"
Normal Person: "Meaning?"
IsleCook: "Meaning that even if what you are saying about Louisiana is true then it must be a bad thing."
Normal Person:
IsleCook: "Poor Normal Person, you just can't see that you've been duped by the failed and utterly discredited, waterboarding, Reagan-Bush-Cheney-Halliburton conservative dogma."
Normal Person: "You said that already."
IsleCook: "No, I didn't."
Normal Person: "Yes, you did."
IsleCook: "No, I added 'waterboarding'. Because Bush is a failure."
Normal Person:
IsleCook:
Normal Person: "So what do you think about the projected $2.5 Trill..."
IsleCook: "Payment for Bush's failure. Which is known world-wide to be total, by the way."
Normal Person: "Which failures?"
IsleCook: "All of them."
Normal Person: "No, really. Be specific."
IsleCook: "Okay, I'll be specific. 1) All. 2) Of. 3) Them.
Normal Person: "Were there any successes? Anywhere? Ever? I mean, even Bob Geldoff credited Bush with the best to-date program to battle AIDS in Afric..."
IsleCook: "No."
Normal Person:
IsleCook: "Hellllloooooo? Do you not know what 'total' means? As in 'total failure'? Because everyone else on the planet does."
Normal Person: "I think we're through here."
IsleCook: "We can't be."
Normal Person: "Why not."
IsleCook: "I haven't used the words "obtuse" or "ad hominem" yet.
Normal Person:
IsleCook: "And I would kind of like to work in 'abysmal', too, You know, before..."
Normal Person: "...Before faliure. Yeah, I know."

Otto, get out some more of that spicy stuff!

Otto, get out some more of that spicy stuff....and I'll bring the lawn chairs.

Ya gotta DEAL there Portia !

Smile of the Day, Walsingham! Many thanks.
Somehow, I am reminded of the Kennedy Clan that had a daughter lobotomized and institutionalized because her intellect was not to their standards...

Islecook , this thread is not about GWB , or anything from the past administration .
It is about the PRESENT administration and what they intend to do with HEALTHCARE .!
I am sure that if a thread was started about dog grooming , you'd step in with " It's Bush's fault" !
In the sixties you probably wouldn't have trusted anyone in their 30's..I betcha !
Or , at least, that's what your writing leads us to believe....and you're shrill ! Your writing sounds (to the mind) as coming from the backseat of a moving automobile from a disagreeable Mother-in-law .
Islecook , you may be a pleasant enough person in "Real Life" but here , you seem not to be able to read ...
You hi-jack others .....
Oh Hell, I'm talking to a wall .
Nevermind.

Reductio ad absurdum, it's what a wingnut reaches for when s/he is all out of facts.
- up to and including the date, the page numbers, and even the sports scores can be successfully refuted by shouting "Rupert Murdoch!!!!".
- she is a Republican and therefore inherently wrong.
- I guess linking to anything the racist, Murdoch-owned, patient-raping Mayo Clinic won't work either.
- Bush is a miserable failure in literally every endeavor he attempted
- Why stop at planet? Why not the whole universe?

Sorry to inform you, IsleCook, but Walsingham writes your stuff better than you do.

Yes, IsleCook, Walsingham does write your stuff better than you do. That's what a satirist does.
I'm so impressed that you learned reductio ad absurdum, but on second thought, it only makes sense. All you progs accuse people of doing what you've either done or are just about to do.

Poor GOP'ers, duped again.

Obama responded, "You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you're talking about."

So ! We seniors are expected to accept deep cuts in Medicare and not allowed the option to purchase additional coverage to pay for what the Government won't allow .
The Government thinks when you turn 65 , you're mostly dead anyway so , they'll help you to your grave quickly...so I guess you won't suffer?
Our Government plans to MURDER us through benign neglect ?
I believe this to be unacceptable .
Oh yes I do .
