The Lion of the Senate dies at 77
Teddy Kennedy, the Lion of the Senate, as some people would have it, has succumbed to brain cancer at 77. Cancer is a dreadful thing and my sympathies are extended to his family. Although I despised the man, I would not wish cancer on him, or any debilitating illness.
He died forty years, one month and six days after his murder of Mary Jo Kopechne. When I lived in Midland I had several Mary Jo Kopechne Martyr's Day Parties, for without her sacrifice, Teddy Kennedy might have been president.
There is a rumor that he will be buried in a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass at the bottom of a creek.

Me again . Whilst waiting for MANY years this day of justice ( as described above ) it is time to move on.

What is WRONG with people who allow egregious behavior with their elected officials to go unpunished ? Are they so incredibly stupid that this does NOT reflect on their State AND THEMSELVES ?!? Do they not care what the other state's people must think of them ?!?
The ONLY good thing Teddy Kennedy did for me was to realize Money and Political Connections will let you get away with MURDER ...( as I stated before, I don't think he'd get away with it in Texas...but in Arkansas...stay away from railroad tracks...never-mind!)

Funnily enough the real story of what happened at Chappaquiddick was that Mary Jo Kopechne died alone in a car when she was drunkenly trying to drive it across the narrow bridge, and that Kennedy wasn't in the vehicle after screwing her. He'd left her a few minutes before.
The cover-up was worse than the reality of adultery. But adultery would have killed Kennedy's nascent political career stone dead - or so he thought, so the story that he'd been in the car when it went over the side of the bridge was concocted.
Kennedy didn't murder anyone, but as I've frequently observed from left or right, they never let facts get in the way of prior belief in the complete evil of political opponents. Especially if the person espouses political viewpoints opposed to one's own.
Do you think that when Laura Bush finally kicks the bucket, you or anyone else on the right will be recalling a young man called Michael Douglas whom she killed in an auto accident?

I do not share neither kindness or sympathy to anyone regarding the death of this cowardly drunk .
He abused the memory of his brother(JFK) who actually saved people when PT109 went down , and his other brother "Bobbie" who was Attorney General of the U.S.
His legacy will be snickered around Washington DC

As far as I'm concerned , Teddy received 30 years , one month and six days of life and freedom ( Denied to M.J.K.) he would not have had in Texas or any other sensible state after appeals.
