Seems to me we should strike Bush and enter Cheney as the president, remind me again when the vice president slammed the president for not taking orders.

In one of the many examples of abuse, Greenhouse said that military auditors caught Halliburton overcharging the Pentagon for fuel deliveries into Iraq. She also complained that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's office took control of every aspect of Halliburton's $7 billion Iraqi oil/infrastructure contract. After her testimony Greenhouse was demoted, allegedly for poor performance, though USACE.[29] Greenhouse had received excellent performance ratings in the past. Greenhouse's attorney, Michael Kohn, stated in the New York Times that "She is being demoted because of her strict adherence to procurement requirements and the Army's preference to sidestep them when it suits their needs

Cheney owned Bush.. back at the Petroleum Club.. and Bush fed his war/oil machine until the second term when the approval ratings went down.

Hear and believe: the way that these contracts are awarded is by a bidding process. When say a bridge needs to be built it takes too long to ask people to submit bids for building that bridge. But major contractors will submit bids to do what is needed for a percentage above cost for the projects for a certain time span. Meaning that when it needs to get done it gets done. It's the only way.

This does not mean that the contractors are all virtuous; I distrust corporations only a bit less than I distrust government.

Bush's war/oil machine? Lex Luthor in the White House? The man whom I quite sure you reviled as being stupid, in your unnuanced, dichotomous view of the world, is somehow capable of sitting in the Oval Office and, rubbing his hands together, cackling insanely, and lifts the telephone. "Dr. Strangelove, let's give Halliburton another $100 million. I feel good today."

And you say it stopped, when his approval ratings went down.

You're very full of yourself, aren't you? To think that the president who least cares about approval ratings (which makes me approve of him for he's not a vote whore and did what he thought was best) is going to change his behavior because people don't like him as much any more. Puh-LEEZE.

And how would Cheney have leverage over Bush with which to own him anyway? Bush won the nomination. Bush's family connections are bigger than Cheney's. Bush picked Cheney as a running-mate, not the other way around.

How, exactly, did Cheney come into to his ownership position?
