Spirit Magazine!

Here's the link you won't find on the Midland Development Corporation Website!

The entire Midland and Odessa Business Focus from the February 2010 Spirit Magazine.

Here's the link to the Spirit Mag Advertising Rate Card. The card rate for a full page 4-color process ad for one month is $37,600. I'm sure there is a "Business Focus" discount since there are multiple advertisers, but you have to add back the cost of preparing the copy.

Feel free to speculate about the total price in the comments.

For all the money spent on the Advertising, you would think the MDC would take a shot in Midland and not use a stock photo of some business people in front of a window overlooking trees and what appears to be lots of stairs in the attempt to sell Midland.

Way to use our local photographers and local modeling talent.

I can't believe I read the whole thing.

They used an awful lot of lipstick for this pig of an advertisement. There were enough over the top half truths or outright lies to make a congressman blush, but the one at the end took the cake for me:

One anticipated attraction coming in 2012 is the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center, an 1,800-seat theater paid for equally by both cities—just another testament to the tremendous philanthropy in the region

I guess it was paid for equally by both cities if you discount the $65.0 Million (of a total $89 Million) that came from University of Texas Tuition Bonds, the University of Texas System and direct grants from the State of Texas.

Many thanks, Ospurt. I don't think I'll read it all again just yet. Once through on a flight on Monday (in choppy air) was enough for this week. I was very disappointed, but not at all surprised, by the use of stock photos.

As for the hype, I remain as I was, embarrassed.

Have no enough money to buy a house? Do not worry, because that is achievable to take the personal loans to solve such kind of problems. So take a consolidation loan to buy all you require.
