Third Party Non-Tenantgate: What did they know and when did they know it?
From the comments here, a good question regarding those "publicly available" parking spaces at Permian Place that were paid for with taxpayer money (paraphrasing):
When the City Council members voted to approve the $2,000,000 public subsidy towards the development of Permian Place did they know that those 75 parking spaces that were to be "made available to the public" would actually only be available to the public after 5PM and on weekends?
(Yeah, I know it is a reach, but I just felt like typing out "Third Party Non-Tenantgate" just to see how clumsy it actually was.)

You know, Basic can put an end to this with one statement. Though, if I could make a buck renting out the parking spaces, I would.

Speaking of "public parking spaces"....after all of the public resources that went into buying, selling, buying back and then tearing down the old Midland Savings building...are there any public parking spaces on that lot? And, if not, who is the beneficiary of this pseudo-governmental largesse, i.e. who gets to collect the rent for all those new spaces?

Third party non tenantgate !

A Big Smile! Thanks, Nat.
It's not clumsy at all. We are going to be dealing with "-gates" at an increasing pace for the forseeable future, both locally and nationally. So being creative here is just your normal being ahead of the curve.
IMHO, this issue could really bring the end of MDC/TIRZ/Downtown Midland boondoggles, if it is pressed.
Full disclosure: I have moved my business out of downtown this year. I know of others doing the same. There is still plenty of space around town for small firms, though probably not for a Basic Energy. And for various reasons, most of us do not need as much space as we used to. I wish Basic's leasing agents well in filling up their buildings.
