Blame the ray of light in the pig sty

Washington of course refuses to control the borders because it knows that illegals are the Democrats' best chance to stay in power. Just think about this: the political party of the United States which is in control of both houses of Congress and the Presidency knows that its best chance for power is to help people break laws. In other words, the Democrats are relying on felons. But then I'm not surprised, are you? I would not at all be surprised to find the party affiliation of prisoners is 99.99% Democrat.

Last I heard, our attorney general Eric Holder, Obowma himself, and Janet Napolitano have all admitted that they have not read the Arizona law, but this does not debar them from denouncing it and calling people who approve of it racist. (The catcall of "racist" I officially retired when Janeane Garafalo stated to Keith Olbermann that people who disagreed with Obama were racists. The word obviously has no meaning now.)

The law does not enable cops to roust people just because they look as though they came up from a tunnel from Nogales. The cops are supposed to ask for identification if they come into contact with someone in the normal course of business and if they have suspicions. In other words, sort of like what they do now to you and me when we get stopped. This is such an unremarkable idea that it's remarkable that it's remarked on.

Most of the stuff which is forwarded to me is so much Pelosi, but this one was rather good.

I'm a legal American citizen and I must show my ID when:

1. Pulled over by the police.

2. Making purchases on my department store credit card.

3. When I show up for a doctor's appointment.

4. When filling out a credit card or loan application.

5. When applying for or renewing a driver's license or passport.

6. When applying for any kind of insurance.

7. When filling out college applications.

8. When donating blood.

9. When obtaining certain prescription drugs.

10. When making some debit purchases, especially if I'm out of state.

11. When collecting a boarding pass for airline or train travel.

I haven't had to show identification for all of those, but I often do to check into a hotel.

This man is right. A law-abiding citizen is told that he'll merely have to produce the identification and he does. But it's racism to ask someone for identification if he might be a criminal and here illegally. Is that it? Am I getting this right? I recall being stopped by cops when I was a kid and the cops wanted to see ID for everyone in the car. That was not racism. That was law enforcement.

The Arizona law was copied, I'm told, in large from federal law. Which is not being enforced. And since Arizona is going to enforce federal law, it's a racist state and will be sued by the federal government. Which is not enforcing its own laws.

I heard a bit of Rush over the weekend and he was having fun with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico, whom he called Senor Wences. After Calderon blasted the Arizona law he admitted that Mexico's immigration laws were much stricter than America's.

The obvious lesson here is that only only tax-paying, responsible Americans who want to enforce the laws which are necessary for the sovereignty of a nation can be racist.

Another lesson is one that I learned from Ayn Rand: if a ray of light falls into a pig sty, what do you blame? The ray of light or the pig sty? It seems that Washington blames the ray of light.
