McCain was the whole reason the TEA Party was formed, in my opinion. Real conservatives didn't have anyone to vote for in 2008. So, they created another party to do away with the 'middle-of-the-road' McCain's of the world.

His enormous war chest was the only thing that won it for him.

But to AZ's current choices: McCain was wrong-with-a-capital-W wrong on election finance "reform" (McCain-Feingold) and even wronger (if possible) on border defense and illegal immigration. Yet he changed his positions for this primary fight against JD Hayworth. While spending $21,000,000 (twenty one million dollars!!!). On his STATE PRIMARY campaign against another REPUBLICAN!!!

What are his positions going to be against the Democrat challenger now that he has beaten his conservative (flawed admittedly) challenger? We don't really know do we.

And by the way (vis a vis current doings in Alaska) where was/is the NRSC in this fight?
