iOS 4 on the iPhone 3g

There is a term for an iPhone 3g running iOS4.

It's called a crappy phone.

I have the iPhone 4 and frankly prefer the older style of case; there are no tactile cue to tell me of its orientation. And it's slick. Must get a case, as I did for the others.

But I haven't had a problem with iOS4 except that when I go into New Mexico and use automatic time setting, it doesn't reset to Central Time. Don't know why. It does when I'm in Austin but not in Pecos. Go figure.

This is a big upgrade to something that I thought was just fine. Perhaps they can tweak it.

Or something. I don't want to the Apple fanboi standing alone on edge of a cliff...

It ain't no great shakes on the 3GS, either. Battery life sucks. All I can figure is that those apps running in the background continue to use juice, and not at an inconsequential rate. I quickly learned the trick of force-quitting apps, which helps a bit, but is no way to run a phone.

Update: my iPhone4 is a champion of battery life. I was complaining because I was using an old Griffin battery charger. Which had died. I was getting three days' usage on one charge.

Still, the algorithm for battery usage isn't right when broadcasting via Bluetooth to my car.

And that's a step back.

But the Retina display is mind-boggling.

Great site. For some reason, I'm not seineg the iPhone icon when I select Add to Home Screen . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the great site and keep up the excellent work.
