Labor Day delight
I very seldom get to hear Rush; work interferes. Today though I did get to hear a bit and nearly drove off the road in delight.
Last year when Mr. Obama vacationed in Martha's Vineyard, a hot-selling item was a tee-shirt saying, "I vacationed with Obama." One store owner last year sold over 4,000.
This year his biggest seller is a tee-shirt with a picture of George W. Bush saying, "Miss me yet?"
Ohio, which is hardly a typical red state, was polled and that state would prefer Bush to be president over Obama 50 to 42%.
Even Democrat pollsters are bracing for a bad November. But they ought not worry yet. There's still time for the Republicans to screw it up.

My dear Theo, I can't agree enough with your comment about the Republicans still having plenty of time to screw things up. When all the Tea Party hoopla was going great guns around Tax Day last April, I said I feared that it was too early for the masses to be excited so long before the election. Too much time remained before November. So far, I've been relieved that so many people have maintained their momentum, but having watched these things for nearly 40 years, I know it's still too early to have any optimism about the right having much luck on Election Day. The memory of people in this country is so short as to be criminal. You and I have talked about the fact that the days of people having the luxury of political apathy in this country are long gone. I've had to bite my tongue so many times this year it's a wonder I can still talk. While I'm very glad that so many people have gotten interested in the political situation, I still resent their adamant ignorance for the entirety of their lives up to this year. They still talk as if these things just started. With that little depth of understanding, I have little confidence in the persistence of their involvement.
